Description

This is a hands on workshop with direct one on one attention. Students will learn how to use a large Butane Torch to fabricate sterling silver jewelry. Students will also be introduced to a fine flamed torch using Propane or Mapp gas. The class emphasizes learning Torch and Flame control along with understanding how to work with silver solder and sterling silver. Students will fabricate 2-3 projects. Concepts of using motorized finishing equipment, and creating Patina on sterling silver will also be covered.

Join us for a class in which you only need to bring safety glasses, reading glasses or some type of magnification, and a hair tie to pull back any long hair!

This class is an opportunity to explore the many aspects of jewelry fabrication with an instructor who is drawn to organic and textured metals and the use of irregular objects and stones.

About your instructor: A self-taught Silversmith, Joan has learned what works and what doesn’t work with Metalsmithing.
