Description

How to whittle a spoon? Sign-up for this class with carpenter Mary Webb and find out how! Mary will teach participants how to mark out and begin the process of carving a blank of wood into what will become a spoon. We will learn:

to identify hard woods and soft woods
grain direction and how to use it to your advantage
what it means to draw a wood carving
- depth of spoon depression, handle and head sizes
appropriate finishes for intended purpose

At the end of the sessions, you’ll have made a spoon to feed your curiosity for more wood carving!
