Learn how to carve thin lines and patterns into wood and fill them with colorful spices to create contrasting designs. The technique dates back to Viking times and was most often used to decorate utilitarian wares such as bowls, spoons, and cups.
The Montana Historical Society will be joining to share more about Montana’s Scandinavian immigrant communities and their histories.
