Since its inception, the Holter has relied on volunteer support to help us bring great arts programming to Helena.
The Holter provides training and support for all volunteer positions, so you’ll build your skills as you go.

A docent is a museum tour guide! Holter docents work with all age groups and lead guided tours of exhibitions.
Other volunteer opportunities in our education program include helping with classes and workshops and organizing supplies.
The Holter installs and de-installs several exhibitions throughout the year. Exhibition tasks often include painting, patching, hanging, and moving artwork.
Our permanent collection also has volunteer opportunities, such as data entry and packing/moving collection artwork.
Volunteers at the front desk engage with guests and operate the gift shop. Event volunteers bartend (when server certified), manage the desk, and assist with event setup and cleanup.
