Job Opportunities

Arts Instructor

Contract, Temporary

There are several opportunities throughout the next year to work with Veterans, active military personnel, caregivers, and long term rehabilitation patients both at the museum and at Ft. Harrison VA Medical Hospital. It is also possible that there will be Holter Healing Art teaching opportunities at St. Peter’s Health in the Behavioral Health Unit. These positions require a mature teacher who is willing to go through required training to work with these populations and in these settings. Training is paid. Teaching artists with less art experience will be considered, especially if they have the right disposition. This program is funded by two new grants, begins in August and culminates with a group celebration and exhibit in August 2026. Preference will be given to Teaching Artists who are interested and willing to commit to teaching in both programs for the entirety of the grant cycle.

At the Holter Classes- Courage to Create (Veterans, Caregivers, and active military personnel)
We are looking for a teaching artist who might have experience with a variety of media, content and fine art/craft specialties – or several teaching artists that would teach for 4-5 weeks with a specific theme. These positions/opportunities will pay $25 an hour for instruction and $15 an hour for prep – no travel needed. These classes are slated for Tuesdays from 10 to noon, beginning in mid-August.

At Ft. Harrison
For the Holter Healing Art program at Ft. Harrison, there is more flexibility. These positions/opportunities will pay $25 an hour for instruction and $15 an hour for travel and prep. The Ft. Harrison position would be twice a week (one weekday and one weekend day) for a total of 5 hours a week.

If you are interested in the Holter Healing Arts and Courage 2 Create opportunities, please send your resume, a letter of introduction (describing which program you are interested in and how you are well-suited) to Christina Barbachano, executive@holtermuseum.org
Applications will be taken until the positions are filled- but we will also be keeping applicants in mind for substituting.
