The Holter Museum of Art invites artists to take part in an art exhibit considering the role of models in art making.
Figuring Drawing is an incredibly important aspect of artistic development. Models are as equivalent in importance to the process of figure drawing as artists are to artwork. This relationship between model and artist is often misrepresented and misunderstood. What about the relationship between a model and their own body?
This exhibition will feature the artwork of participating artists and will include the stories of participating models from the Holter Museum of Art’s Figure Drawing Open Studio. All visual mediums are accepted, including sketches, painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installations, video, performance art, and more.
This exhibit was created in partnership with Jonathan Stewart and the nonprofit, EverGreen Adventures. EverGreen aims to connect people with chronic illnesses and their caregivers with each other, the outdoors, and other forms of expression to foster a sense of community and self-acceptance.
