Metamorphosis: a striking alteration in appearance, character, or circumstances

Transform David Spencer’s Books for The Holter Metamorphosis Gala 2025
Thanks to our dear friend David Spencer’s passing, the Holter has found itself in possession of his collection of over 10,000 books. While we intend to distribute these books to the community through our quasi-bookstore held in the ‘W,’ we also had the idea to transform some of these books into works of art! We invite local artists to create artwork using David’s books to auction off at our annual gala live auction in May 2025. The theme for our 2025 gala is Metamorphosis, which was a subject near and dear to our departed friend. Artists can take one or as many books as they need to create anything they can think of. Join us in celebrating David Spencer’s life and art’s transformative power!
