It’s Gala time! The Holter Museum of Art is planning its largest community fundraising event of the year, the annual Gala & Auction, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Helena Civic Center.
The Holter Gala aims to generate funding for inspiring exhibitions, arts education for children and adults, quality events, and support for the Museum’s high-impact work in the Helena and Montana communities.
The donation of all or a portion of the proceeds from artists’ work helps make scholarships available for youth education programs and cultivates the promotion of outstanding exhibitions and events.
This application is for the Silent Auction only. The artworks made from David Spencer’s books will be the only pieces in the Live Auction this year.
The process this year:
• March 3rd: Application deadline
• March 5-7th: Jury review session
• March 12th: Artists notified of status of acceptance into the Gala Silent Auction
• March 17th: Agreements signed and returned to the Holter
• April 9th: Artwork delivered to the Museum by this date
• April 16th: images of artwork are due (This mostly applies to Live Auction artists unless, upon acceptance, you take a higher-quality photo of the piece you originally submitted)
• April 21st – May 17th: Online Silent Auction
• May 9th — May 16th: Live auction items on display for preview at the Holter
• May 17th: In-person Auction and Gala at the Helena Civic Center!
The Holter Museum of Art reserves the right to set the minimum bid.

Upon acceptance, each donating artist receives one complimentary ticket to the event plus a yearlong Holter membership.
