The Story:

A Rumbling in the Mountains

Throughout the history of Jernhode, relations between the Ram Clan and their Mountain Troll neighbors have varied from amicable and gregarious to downright hostile. Whereas there have been records of Beorgfolk smiths passing along their ancient practices to their human neighbors, there have been just as many instances of Jernhode soldiers and Mountain Trolls clashing over border disputes, resource allocation, and other long-held grudges. Historically, the fortress of Dunhold has maintained a watch against the more aggressive Trolls that dwell in the eastern mountain stronghold of Dybgulv. In recent times, under the leadership of Garholt Strongspear, a tentative truce has been brokered between these two factions, but it is unlikely to hold for much longer…

Reports come back to Dunhold of increasing numbers of wild Khode gathering at Dybgulv, forgoing their nomadic lifestyle to live in the mountains with the eastern Beorgfolk. While Garholt has no desire to intervene before any act of aggression occurs, there are some among the Jernhode who call him coward and believe that their lord has grown too old and feeble to lead. A force of Jernhodian warriors and knights have mustered with the express plan to march upon Dybgulv and smash the Khode-Troll alliance before they have a chance to strike first. Will you join this hot-headed crusade in the name of the Ram Clan, or will you stand with the Beorgfolk and their Khode allies?

About the GM:

Eric Dymit is one of the c0-directors of Adventures in Cardboard Montana (otherwise known as AiCinMT), and an avid fantasy and role playing enthusiast! Taking inspiration from the AiC world of Minnesota, he has developed all of the Lore which Montana campers have played in for their summer camps, game days, and residencies*. In addition to his work with AiC, Eric has also worked as an Art Instructor with the Holter Museum of Art, teaching Corks/Cocoa and Canvas classes, Artist in Residency sessions at Helena elementary schools, and summer camps. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the natural world, reading about and drawing fantasy characters, and petting every dog he sees.

* “developed” as in recorded the many exploits, wacky stories, spiraling tales, and yet-to-be-told (to anyone but fellow campers) narratives played out by campers that have come to make up the lore of AiC in MT.
