CAPP is the abbreviation for College Art Portfolio Prep.
Are you considering applying for art school or another competitive art program in higher education? Do you need and want help preparing an art portfolio, writing your artist statement or essays, and figuring out which art school or program might be a fantastic fit for you? Don’t know where to start the process or maybe you are stuck and aren’t sure what steps to take next? Then CAPP might be for you. CAPP is a series of meet ups and portfolio preparation workshops that are one on one or in small groups that meet with the instructor. Christina can help guide Juniors, Seniors and non-traditional aged future art school students through the process of identifying great art programs, preparing portfolio work, applying to art programs, and securing merit scholarships. CAPP is a mixed task course dependent on the need of the student. We meet at times set up with the instructor and that works mutually for everyone. The cost is $40 a session (1-2 hours) and meet ups are at the Holter Museum of Art.
About the Instructor: Christina Barbachano is the Executive Director of the Holter Museum of Art. She has a BFA in 3D Art from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA and an MFA from Mills College in Oakland, CA. She also has a Masters in Educational Leadership and is working on her College Counseling and Educational Consultant Certificate from UCSD. Christina is a practicing artist and has taught artists of all ages and abilities for almost 30 years. Her favorite moments as an art educator have been when her art students create something more wonderful than she could ever do or imagine. She has helped guide many art students to finding just the right next step on their artistic journey.
