Meet the Artists

Bridger Nunn: Born in Townsend, Montana, Bridger Nunn is a 21-year-old male who is pursuing a graphic design degree. He is currently studying his last semester at Helena College until he has his associate’s degree. He plans to attend college in Oregon to further his education as a graphic designer. Bridger’s art style is mixed media with a focus on drawing.

I am interested in experimentation and the challenge of new mediums. I use common, everyday, representational objects and subject matter to communicate my personality. By combining mediums and forms I create works that carry a strong personal meaning while also evoking new thoughts and meaning for the viewer.

Kaitlyn Eanes: Katy Mae is currently living in Helena, Montana. She studies at Helena College and will earn her associate in arts. She enjoys a range of mediums from digital creations to acrylic and charcoal.

I am interested in creating narratives that explore identity and ways of being represented in society. My works use a variety of mediums to tell stories that the viewer can relate to. Storytelling allows me to change style, subject matter, and medium as necessary to give the viewer a work that is playful, inviting, and thought-provoking.

Leah Schwabauer: Born near the Columbia Gorge in White Salmon, Washington, Leah Schwabauer now resides in Helena, MT. She graduates from Helena College in May 2025. Leah is a paper sculptor known for her whimsical designs with storybook elements.

I am fascinated by the concept of turning the ordinary into something extraordinary—challenging the stereotypical expectations of paper as an art medium. Through my work, I see potential in even the smallest scrap, believing that beauty can be found in the most overlooked and discarded fragments.

However, my creative process is ridiculously messy. I take over every available space in my home, and the process feels chaotic—papers, textures, and materials piled up in unpredictable ways. Yet, within this disarray, I find a rhythm and bit by bit, I fashion beauty from the chaos.

Parker Sutherland: Award-winning non-binary artist Parker Sutherland was born and raised until the age of 13 in Santa Clarita, California, and has been living ever since in Helena, Montana. Parker graduated from Capital High School in 2022 and is currently enrolled at Helena College University of Montana, getting their Associate of Arts degree before they transfer to the University of Montana to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Parker’s art has been displayed locally at Youth Electrum, the Montana State Capital, and the Helena College Artist Showcase.

As an artist I am interested in using my work as a voice for queer and trans people. This subject matter interests me because I am non-binary and am in the eternal process of transitioning. My work is characterized by using mixed media in combination with many visual references to curate characters that are a metaphor for change, transformation and identity with a moody aesthetic. With these works I want to make the viewer feel what it can be like dealing with internal conflict and being alienated and invite the viewer to think about the queer and marginalized people in their lives.
