Description

An art 101. Learn the basics from professional artists. How to draw figures, the differences in clay and glazes, when and how to use oil paints v. acrylic v. tempera paints, how to know surface and material in paintings, and so many more parts of being an artist. Each week will explore a different material.

Some of the things we will explore:

charcoal and shading
oil and chalk pastels
figural drawing
plein aire observation
underpaintings, canvas prep, material prep for oil + acrylic + tempera paints
watercolor
printmaking
clay – slip, slab, and glaze
