Description

An afterschool Lego camp with brick building, story building, and film! Participants will create their own story, building the set and casting the characters from Legos, direct a film, go through editing, and end with a movie of their own.

Based off of the museum’s beloved summer camp, this afterschool class will challenge participants (yes, it is a challenge – trust the teacher on this) to come up with a cohesive storyline that captivates audiences and delivers performance using interlocking plastic bricks – also known as legos! We will learn story writing, play with bricks, use stopmotion animation to film and then learn the tips and tricks for editing.

Meet your teacher: Anna has taught art for the past 10 years, starting at a sculpture park in Minnesota, teaching with Adventures in Cardboard’s home location out of Minneapolis and St. Paul MN, before returning home to teach and lead programs with the Holter Museum of Art. Through Adventures in Cardboard Montana (the extension of Cardboard Camp that was officially started in May 2021. Long live cardboard!), Anna has now taught programs in Livingston, MT, Bozeman, MT, and Northfield, MN. When she doesn’t have a cardboard sword in hand, she can be found hanging in a hammock with her most-handsome-kitty-cat-ever, Joker, reading up on archeological digs in the Mediterranean, or playing sudoku.
